SINGLES FLEX LEAGUE FOR MEN AND WOMEN
|
The
following league rules were developed to benefit all players in the
league. These rules are
intended to make the league matches competitive and enjoyable for
everyone. We ask your
cooperation and, as always, welcome suggestions.
Thank you and enjoy your league. 1.
All
league participants must be members of the Doylestown Tennis Club.
No subs may be used. 2.
The
name with the * next to it denotes the person who is to bring a can of new balls,
call his opponent to schedule the match, and call the club to schedule
the court. Balls may be
purchased at the club at a special league price. 3.
Each
match consists of 1½ hours of play.
There will be no playing past the specified time.
Play begins after a 10 minute warm up.
Play 2 sets, at 5-5 in games play a 9 point tiebreaker.
One point is awarded for each game won.
If there is a tie 10 minutes before the end of play, a 9 point
tiebreaker will be played. If
you are in the middle of a game (not set) when time runs out, that game
does not count. The score
is taken from the end of the preceding game.
Since the tiebreaker is being played indoors, do not change ends.
[Note: a 9 point tiebreaker is decided when one player reaches 5
points. See the Rules page
for details of the 9 point tiebreaker] 4.
Record
the total number of games you have won (maximum of 12 per match) on the
score sheet posted outside of the locker room after each match.
The standings page on our website will be updated monthly.
League winner is determined by the individual who has the highest
average # of games won (i.e., total # of games won during league play /
# of matches played). 5.

scheduling a make up, you must notify the club and book the court in
